Who is Mr. Michigan?

Mr. Michigan is the fun new spokesperson for Michigan Awesome. He’s an adventurer, exploring and celebrating awesome places and awesome people doing awesome things in Michigan. This year he’ll be attempting to set some new World Records, attending some of Michigan’s best/most interesting events and visiting some of the most amazing places in our great state. He’ll be creating and promoting new Michigan Awesome products and re-energizing the fanbase while attracting new diehards through exciting storytelling and engaging content.

Mr. Michigan is an adventurer, lover of Michigan, pursuer of Awesome. Think the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” meets the Iron Cowboy meets Where’s Waldo. 

He is…the most interesting man in Michigan.

Over the next 12 months, Mr. Michigan will add value to Michigan Awesome by:

• Developing and selling/promoting 12-24 new products (outdoor/adventure related apparel and products).

• Tackling 12 -24 Adventures: Record Breaking Attempts, Races, Outdoor Experiences.

• Produce and Release 12+ podcasts (interviewing Awesome Michiganders doing awesome things).

• Put out a Monthly Newsletter featuring recent adventures and new product launches.

• Create fun, engaging content (photos and videos) for social media and beyond.

• Develop a Creative Team: Photogs and Videogs to produce awesome content that highlights adventures.

• Be a consistent presence at live events and social media promoting Michigan Awesome.

This Year’s Adventures will include:

• “Mr. Michigan Races Across the State”: Record Breaking Cycling Spectacle. A Facebook Live Event. Break the cycling speed record across the state of Michigan. Hype the event to bike shops throughout the state and promote new Michigan Awesome Bike Michigan apparel/products.

• “Mr. Michigan Swims Across the Lake”: Record Breaking Swimming Spectacle. A Facebook Live Event. Participate in a record setting swim across Lake Michigan. Hype the event to swim teams/clubs throughout the state and promote new Michigan Awesome Swim Michigan apparel/products.

• “Mr. Michigan Runs Across the State.” Record Breaking Running Spectacle. A Facebook Live Event. Relay run from Southern border to Northern Border of Michigan. Hype the event to running teams/clubs throughout the state and promote new Michigan Awesome Run Michigan apparel/products.

• Swimming from the LP to the UP (under Mackinac Bridge).

• Swimming to Manitou Islands and/or Beaver Island.

• Participating in RAGNAR Trail race.

• Hiking/Camping/Kayaking adventure in Pictured Rocks. Promoting new hiking/camping/kayaking apparel and gear.

• Attending/participating in other cycling events: Gran Fondo, DALMAC, Michigan Mountain Mayhem, ODRAM, Coast to Coast Gravel Grinder, Barry Roubaix, Iceman, etc…

• Attending/participating in other running events: Riverbank, Last man standing, 24 hour trail run.

• Participate & Promote Michigan Adventure races.

• Participate/Highlight other adventures: Kite Surfing, Sand boarding, Lake Michigan Surfing, Jet ski back pack flying, Luging, Skate Skiing, Curling, Hike/Run/Camp the North Country Trail, Paddling adventure, Tough Mudder, etc…

• Ask followers and partners for recommendations of awesome activities/events that should be featured.

• Mr. Michigan will have his own social media accounts to engage “true fans” more frequently. His most engaging posts will be shared on Michigan Awesome main accounts as deemed necessary/beneficial. Once or twice a week?
